Dr. Ellard offer consulting services, including
- knowledge translation (aka converting scientific jargon related to neuro-architecture into digestible and actionable information)
- introductory tutorials or lectures on neuro-architecture
- field or site studies of existing or proposed developments using psychological and biometric analyses, including eye tracking
In addition, Colin is in the early stages of a project which can provide biometric analyses of urban scale design proposals. Stay tuned!
Select Past Clients
BMW-Guggenheim Lab. I worked with the Guggenheim museum to produce an experimental psychogeographic walk through city streets in New York, Mumbai, and Berlin. The pioneering work was covered extensively in the mainstream media and my book Places of the Heart, published in 2015.
Novartis Pharmaceuticals. I worked with Novartis to develop a presentation describing the impact of place on creativity, delivered to employees and the public in May 2023.
Infrastructure, Housing and Community Canada. I am working with this federal ministry to develop background for psychologically sustainable housing practices.
Heatherwick Studio. I am working with Heatherwick Architectural Studio to develop and test methods to measure the impact of “boring” building facades on psychological and neurological state.
David Van Der Leer Design Decisions. I worked with DVDL on a project in Abu Dhabi on a project related to livability and mental health.
Driehaus Foundation. I worked with the Driehaus Foundation on a project designed to measure the impact of architectural form on human emotion.
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. I worked with St. Peter’s in Kitchener on a project designed to re-vision the use of their sanctuary space.
